Miel Noir are a band from Hyberborea that plays a mixture of industrial, dark ambient and pop and this is a review of their 2011 album "Honey And Ash" which was released by Steinklang.
Electronic and Samples bring a very dark industrial sound to the music as well as some avant garde noise elements, while the bass playing has a very strong and powerful tone with some dark riffing that dominates throughout the recording.
Guitars bring in some very heavy and dark industrial sounds to the music with a good amount of distortion with one song utilizing clean playing and full chords and there are no guitar solos or leads present on the recording mixed in with some synths and pianos.
Vocals are mostly clean singing gothic/industrial vocals with some female vocals mixed in as well as some spoken word parts, while the lyrics are written in a mixture of German and English touching on some philosophers and poets such as Fredrich Nietzsche, Emily Bronte, and Charles Baudelaire as will as writing their own songs, as for the production it has a very dark and esoteric sound to it.
In my opinion Miel Noir are a very great sounding industrial/goth/dark ambient pop hybrid and if you are a fan of this style, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Das Honig Opfer" "In Empty Coldness" "Der Fiend" and "Eherne Ulmen". RECOMMENDED BUY.
